Kanatlı Dam is constructed as a clay core, semi pervious, solid web type dam on Bulanık Creek, one of the branches of Peri River in Upper Fırat Basin, Kovancılar District, Elazığ city.
The height of the dam from the river bed is 75,33 m, 78,83 m from its base, the drainage area is 81,20 psm, annual average flow is 36,76 hm3, minimum water level is 1279 m, maximum water level is 1324,4 m, and active volume is 35,24 hm3.
The body height of the dam is 78,83 m. Total storage volume of the dam is 43,90 million m3.
It will irrigate a total of 70 thousand 900 decar agricultural land at 19 accomodational unit inside the borders of Kovancılar and Karakoçan District in Elazığ city.
